To manage a house with four hundred years of history is an added responsibility.
CNSDP strives hard to maintain and protect the tangible and intangible heritage which it has been bequeathed, keeping alive the memories, traditions and stories that it has witnessed, and that form a small part of a greater History.
In cooperation with the School of Arts and Restoration of the Catholic University, the house has received in the summer of 2011 a team of students to work on the consolidation and restoration of the retable in the chapel.
The 17th century image of the Pietá – Nossa Senhora da Piedade – was restored recently under the supervision of the Instituto dos Museus e da Conservação. |
